Series: "Render"

This series pushes against the two-dimensional orientation of painting by layering and ripping images over one another. The layers and spaces between create experiential artworks that cannot be taken in all at once; the viewer must engage with them physically to see everything.

Each work includes a variety of layered subjects, coalescing into a powerful commentary on the world around us grounded in or offset by archetypal imagery and concepts.

The series title comes from the dual meaning of 'Render', which can mean both to create but also refers to 'rend', to rip or destroy. Destruction and creation function as one in each of the compilations to produce meaning.
